Are Square nails played out???

I don't think so! Even with the trendy stiletto and coffin shaped nails making their mark, square nails will reign supreme! The savvy, box look is most appealing to working, professional women. Those who desire a clean, workable length, normally choose a short square nail! And sometimes, subtle touches like gel polish, nail art & bling help make them pop!

I created this nail set using artificial tips. I've gotten really spoiled building my acrylic and designing from there. But my client insisted on me using an actual nail tip, so I granted her wish! To prep the nail, I had her wash her hands, and then I used my electric nail file to get rid of excess oils on the nail plate and around her cuticle.

Once that's completed, I add an OPI dehydration liquid and begin applying my CND acrylic. With their retention, no lift system, primer isn't necessary. Since the length is natural like, a thin layer of acrylic is fine. The longer the nail, the thicker the acrylic to prevent breakage. I shape it using a gritty hand file and then smooth it over with my electric file bit designed for sculpted nails.

The products used to complete this nail look. I can't believe LA PALM has gel polish now. And it's good too! I've tried the GLAM & GLITS color powders alone to build a colorful set, to discover they lift within a couple days. So I'm thinking of mixing CND powder with it to help the strengthen the hold. However, the powders are great for designs and pops of color! I also use LED instead of UV Lights. It's a lot less harmful to your skin and nails, and lasts for EVER! Versus buying expensive bulbs that don't last and breaks during travel.

Set complete! My client was very pleased with the results. Her job requires daily work with her hands, so she wanted something that wouldn't interfere with her work performance, yet, allows her femininity to shine through. I think the pink sprinkles and shiny diamonds accomplished just that!

Cute nails x a smiling face = a happy client! I really take pride in my work. I don't rush, I don't cut corners and I put my best foot forward in all that I do! This industry, this world of beauty and emphasis on artistic ability is both greater than you and I. So I work to perfect my craft and enjoy the journey along the way! It isn't easy, but someone has to do it, why not me!
