13 and a half hours later!!! My braids are DONE!

Yes you read it right! 13 and a half long hours of braiding! I think I have carpel tunnel now! No, seriously. Normally, with long styles like this, I like to break the time up . But this go round, I was so amped up to "just get'er done", I refused to spend 3-4 days braiding my life away. I spent all day Sunday and 2 hours this morning finishing these braids. I was extremely determined!

This is the hair I used. I really like it too. It had the natural looking ends, pre cut and prepped for braiding! Also, antibacterial for less itching and cleaner hair! Only $1.99 a pack for this length and color!

And yes, I really did braid these myself! I'm not sure why people are so shocked to know when you style your own hair. For me, it's like brushing my teeth, or ironing my clothes. It comes so naturally for me. Now, I'm no Kim Kimble, but I can clean myself up nice, and will do the same for you too!

I made completing this style easier by parting my hair in 3 quads. Beginning with the back first since it's most challenging to do.

Don't go there! I know the back parts is a lil' slanted and unequal, but come on, I can't see the back! I literally part & feel with my fingers. If you are your own stylist, you know exactly what I mean. I envision the back of my head and I part, then feel, then part, then braid. Buuuuuut, at least that 3 strand rhythm crispy tho'! And consider this, if my braids look this damn good doing them on myself, imagine them on you. And how straight the parts would be!

That golden glow is fierce honey. Lol! Once I finished my last braid, I boiled some water and dipped the ends. Oh M Geeee! What a difference hot water makes. It made the style look "complete" in an undone way if you get my drift.

Braided styles are more than protective styles. For me, it's a link between myself and my African ancestry. No one taught me this. Yes I went to beauty school, but this technique is something I was born with! Rocking less harmful hairdos reminds me of self love and self care.  Besides, the price to do this is unbeatable! Yes, 13 hours is long, but at $1.99 for a pack of hair and I only used 5 packs! Lol! You do the math!

I'm hoping with all the hours I took to complete this look I'll have it in for quite a while! Buuuuut I doubt it. Im a stylist! I change my hair like I change my purses! OFTEN!
